What do you see in your city?
Everyone has that one photo that represents what one feels about a city. This is mine. There's nothing fancy to it but I felt it describes Indianapolis well. Or at least what I felt I saw.
I would have added some others right now but the blogger site is not cooperating with me so hopefully I will be able to post those later.

Is someone there?
I've returned from my convention. All went well. My presentation was well received and I was able to spend some time with some old friends. The next few days I will be sharing some of my photos from the trip. Tonights is titled 'Is someone there?'. While my stay in the hotel was nice. Hot water, free newspaper and breakfast in the morning. I could have sworn I kept hearing someone in the hallway but this is all I ever saw.

two more
I've lost track of time lately and I missed my posting yesterday. That means you get two photos today. Tomorrow morning I'm off to Indianapolis for my conference so I won't be posting until next Thursday or so. Don't worry. I'm taking the camera with me. I promise to take some normal shots while I'm there.

What's this?
I have three more days before I leave for a national convention that good ole lucky me gets to present at. I say lucky me because I can't find my presentation anywhere on my office server which means I have to go dig through my hard copy files to find the information to prepare. Don't get me wrong. I am excited to have this chance to showcase some of my research on a national level, I just wish someone else would put the stuff together for me this week. You see, I'm suffering from chronic laziness. So here is my crazy photo for the day.

Enlightenment from an 8 year old
Last night here in the Midwest of the U.S. a series of violent storms spread through several towns spawning tornados. We were under severe weather warnings all night long. My eight year old daughter has always been very fond of science. She is the only 8 year old I know that enjoys watching science shows about Quantum physics and dimensions. Last night she began asking questions about lightning since there was quite a bit of it here. She suggested that lightning was a tear in our reality. Her words, I promise. Then she began to talk about how after lightning you can briefly see through it into a different world. This is where I usually start thinking her mind is a little too advanced for her age. Oh, but next comes the best part. The other world we see must be the cartoon world because lightning is so bright and the cartoon world always has a bright sunny sky and that's what we see. So there you have it. One moment she's asking me questions about the theory of relativity and somehow it warps back to an eight year olds perceptionof the cartoon network. It's so amazing. So this week I'm dedicating my photos to my daughter in exploring perceptions into parallel universes. She loves chess so to start off the week I begin with todays photo of a chess match. White, she always prefers to be white over black.

Stories
There's a story that says on some days during the sunset, some have seen a weaping woman on the steps of this cemetery corner. I wasn't graced with her presence but I guess if you want to weap then this would be a good place to do so. I did catch a glimpse of some deer though. They were very much alive. I couln't get close enough to them to see if any of them were weaping either.

Joseph Conrad-Heart of Darkness
If you haven't read 'Heart of Darkness' by Joseph Conrad then you must place it on your books to read this summer. It would be safe to say he was an in between author of realist and modernism. Some even say he was just a racist covering his views in literay diction. You can judge for yourself. That's the beauty of self education.
I was thinking of entering this in the latest DPChallenge but knowing that darker images don't make the cut I decided to share this in a different venue.

Still Looking
I'm still looking for the camera battery so you get another rose set photo today. Yesterday wasn't my day with electronic gizmos. My office computer completely crashed on me. I was able to a new one by the end of the day but the network card didn't work so I'm still without a computer. There isn't much you can do with a computer when all the files are stored on a seperate server and I can't connect to it.

sensitive rose
One of the great things about having kids is their incredible ability to pick things up and forget where they placed them. If anyone finds my missing camera battery out there could you let me know. Until then, you're all just going to have to view older pics taken on a different day. Sorry about that. Today I'll share one of my rose shots from a series I had taken earlier. They were edited to provide a watercolor appearance. You see, I really do have a sensitive side.
